Some would say that it is simply the spike in the level of blood sugar; unfortunately, it is not only about that. Diabetes is a type of metabolic disorder that caused by absence or the deficiency of our endogenous insulin production. How does insulin affect our body? and how it causes diabetes? This Insulin is a hormone that was produced in our pancreas that helps to lower down the level of blood sugar by quickly transporting glucose from the blood going into your cell, and will be the source of our energy for our daily activities and glycogen or fats. In other words diabetes affects how the body process the food you ate for energy consumption thereby affecting the level of blood sugar it stays in blood in higher level and it will be possible that it might also cause hypoglycemia if you took so much insulin shot for maintenance drug.

We have three known types of diabetes; it comes in different causes, pathophysiology, risk factors and treatments Good thing is that even though diabetes is irreversible, it can easily be controlled with proper self-motivation and medical assistance. This kind of disease is self-manageable that means the one who acquired the disease diabetes has a great capacity to control the level of blood sugar in his/her own body. We don’t need for that diabetes disease to come into our life and start changing most of the beautiful things we enjoy now a days because this disease is highly preventable, so what are we waiting for? Let’s say NO to and start controlling level of blood sugar as early as possible.

We have 2 major type of diabetes it is the diabetes type I and II. They have different causes, symptoms and treatment. We have also the gestational diabetes which only occurs in pregnant women. DIABETES TYPE I
Also referred as the Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus (IDDM), it is Juvenile onset diabetes because it commonly occurs into children and young adults. In this case the body no longer produces Insulin that’s why the patient with this type of diabetes will need a lifetime treatment of Insulin so that the sugar, starches and foods they ate everyday will be converted to energy for daily living, that why they are referred as insulin dependent.
DIABETES TYPE II
Also referred as the Non-insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus (NIDDM), Patient with this type of diabetes can live their lives in a longer period without even knowing that they already have the certain disease because diabetes symptoms gradually become visible. This occurs in all ages, sometimes Life style and diet is the most common reason in acquiring such disease such as diabetes.
